About the web site

The web site is maintained by Pete Barnett, Stephen Edwards and David Griffiths and runs on a Drupal 5 based core. User content is contributed by the users of the site. To keep up with the latest technical developments and updates to the website please see the webteam blog. If you would like to help out with development of the site, we'd love to hear from anyone with skills in graphic design, HTML/CSS, PHP, MySQL, the Drupal CMS, or Unix SysAdmin - any skills you have we can make use of. 

Hosting

Hosting is provided by Hot Drupal - a hosting provider specialising in providing high performance hosting for Drupal based sites. The servers are based in the US with excellent support provided by Steve and his team. They are highly recommended.

The site was first launched on a Bluehost shared hosting account. Their accounts are incredible value for money and we would also recommend them if you have a less complex site. We continue to use their services as a backup and development site. If you click on this link we receive a generous affiliate referral that will help us with our charity work.

History & Background

The site was designed and launched by Go Help in October 2007, based on a Drupal 5 multisite set up providing the Charity Rallies and Mongolia Charity Rally sites. In spring 2008 the site was moved to the Domain module. Many contributed community modules provide functionality on the site, in particular the team pages are built around organic groups with custom content types.
