The Charity Rallies team of volunteers has grown enormously since we launched 18 months ago. We now have around 15 volunteers that are helping out in all sorts of ways and organising new rallies, but with more and more rallies there is still space for more people to get involved!
If you think you'd like to help out and volunteer for a charity with a great cause please contact us through the feedback form on the site, or email us on info@gohelp.org.uk
In particular, we'd love to hear from anyone who might be interested in volunteering for any of the following roles, or helping out with any part of them:
Press and Marketing
Responsibilities:
- improve the amount of media coverage we receive
- oversee the publicity budget
- manage our relationship with the press and assist in responding to the many enquiries we receive
- manage our online and offline advertising spend
- explore new opportunities for promoting the charity
- anything else you think would be helpful!
Sponsorship & Publicity
Responsibilities:
- respond to enquiries from companies and individuals wishing to sponsor events
- reach out to companies and individuals to develop overall sponsorship for the events
- investigate charity funds/grants that we can draw on to help with funding new charity projects and support our existing work
- work on new ways to get the word out about charity rallies
- anything else you think would be helpful!
Treasurer
Responsibilities:
- managing the finances of the Charity
- managing the bank account and internal accounts
- budgeting for existing and future activities
- recording transactions, and assisting in completing the annual tax returns
(You don't need to be an accountant but some prior experience of accounts would be helpful. The board of trustees already contains a Charity Lawyer and also a Tax Lawyer who can help out)
Website development
The Charity Rallies system is a heavily customised system built on the opensource Drupal CMS. With so many events now coming on board our two existing web developers could do with some help! There are lots of tasks to complete on the site, and lots of room for new people to come in with fresh ideas for the site. If you have any of the following skills and wish to help out, even for just a few hours, they'd love to hear from you:
- Graphic design and CSS skills
- Javascript coding
- PHP/mysql coding skills (particularly Drupal module development!)
- Usability testing and user interface design
- anything else you think might help
(you don't need to be able to do all of this stuff - a lot of the work to be done is non-technical so there are ways that anyone can help, if you think you can offer some time please get in touch)
for website work, please contact the webteam directly on webmaster at charityrallies.org or through the contact form on the site.
