History:

Inspired in part by the Mongol Rally and the need to do something charitable, Fel Cruz and Chris Normile decided that if the Brits could successfully raise money for charity driving in wholly unsuitable cars, then Yankee ingenuity could do them one better. Heck, they thought, why not try to drive around the world in a wholly unsuitable car?

From this very ridiculous idea was born the non-profit organization ARL NorthAm and it's inaugural event for raising funds for charity: The CircumGEOnavigation rally.

Part Mongolian Charity Rally, part banger rally, and all charitable, CircumGEOnavigation will take a $500 1991 Geo Metro rescued from an impound lot on a drive around the world. To make things even more ridiculous and garner even more attention, we'll do it with a 23" foot outrigger canoe strapped on the top.
