In addition to the team pages system (coming soon) teams that want to develop their own personal website can host their website with us for free. We provide you with a basic hosting account, with all of the standard features, including a website and email forwarding. You'll need to understand how to make your own website to get this set up. Unfortunately we can't provide generic advice on making web pages, but if you've got the know how, we can give you the hosting.

Your website can either be your own domain name hosted on our server, or if you don't want to register your own domain name, you can have a subdomain of one of our sites.

Your own domain name

Register your own domain name using a service such as www.ukreg.com [1]. When you create the domain you will need to configure the nameservers to point to our server (we'll send you details of this when you ask). This could give you an address such as www.myteamname.com [2]. You will need to pay for the domain name each year you want to keep the address running.

A subdomain to the event website

If you are a team on an event, you can have an address such as
yourchoiceofname.theeventwebsiteaddress.com. For example, a team on the Mongolia Charity Rally can have the address http://myteamname.mongoliarally.com [3]

If you are organising a separate charity rally you can have an address such as: yourchoiceofname.charityrallies.org. For example, your website address could be http://pyramidrally.charityrallies.org/ [4].

What about email?

You can have any email addresses at your address:

e.g. john@myteamname.mongoliarally.com [5]

This all sounds a bit complicated?

If this all sounds too technical, it is probably best to hold on for the team pages system that is almost complete. This will allow each team to create their own personal pages within the website, so that you can easily keep updated on all the teams, their fundraising, and their progress during the event.
